Is there any documentation with the TMAC program?

Yes there is a detailed user manual and mini-tutorial available. If you do not have the TMAC documents executable file please email sales@trailmobile.com. When you have installed the documents executable file just perform a file search for a Microsoft® Word Document entitled "TMAC User Manual.doc" When you double click the file name, the document will open and you will be able to view and or print the manual. It might even be a good idea to place a shortcut to this document on the desktop for future reference. This may answer many of your questions.

What is the procedure for submitting an order to Trailmobile via the TMAC system?

Presently the procedure is to completely configure your quote in the TMAC system including any special items that may not be present in the drop down list boxes. The special items description should be typed into the appropriate special text box. Save the entire TMAC file in the Calico Concinity window and email the file with the .ccq extension to sales@trailmobile.com . The file will be checked for accuracy and completeness. The prices for the special quote items will be inserted, along with their appropriate weights and option codes. At this point the file will be emailed back to you. When you open it you will notice that the audited flag at the bottom says "Yes". You can print a copy of the finished quote to review with your customer and this will show the complete sale price of the trailer based upon the discount that you entered. Please double check all of the specifications to make certain that everything is correct. If everthing is satisfactory you can then enter an order number into the customer information window, make sure to complete all of the required fields, and resubmit to sales@trailmobile.com and when the file is received with an order number in place and the audited flag set to "Yes" it will be accepted as an order. For more detailed instructions please refer to our TMAC Procedures Page.

Where do I obtain order numbers to use in the TMAC system?

Currently the order numbers are issued by Gary Wallace at Trailmobile's Charleston, Illinois office. The telephone number is (217)348-8181 x224 for Gary Wallace. He will issue you order numbers in blocks of 50 numbers and they will be faxed to your place of business.

When I choose a special item from one of the drop down lists why doesn't the text box for my special appear?

If you select an item that opens a special text box for your special description the box must be closed with the "OK" button. The TMAC system will only allow one of these boxes to be open at a time.

The "X" in the upper right corner will not properly close the box. The special box will only be minimized into the lower left corner of the window below the model number. Double click any box that is in the lower left corner of the window below the model number. The special box will open and you can then close it with the "OK" button.

It is also possible for you to click outside the perimeter of the special box and cause the category window to come to the front. The special box disappears but it is not actually closed. It has only hidden behind the active window. If you then select another control that tries to open a special box it simply will not work. The easiest way to find these it to go the Air window. The Air window is actually smaller than a special box and you will see a portion of the special box hanging out from behind this window. Click in this visible portion of the special box and the special will be brought to the front where you can close it correctly with the "OK" button. You can also move the Category window by clicking in the Title Bar at the top of window and dragging the window to it's new position. This will also expose the special box hidden behind the Category Window.

When typing in a special box I would like to start a new line but Enter does not perform this function. How can I do this?

The tab and Enter keys do not perform normally in this instance. However if you hold down the Ctrl key when you hit Enter the cursor will drop down to the next line. This does however add extra characters and can make it very easy to exceed the 255 character limit of the special box. In addition, the box is not the same size as the field on the quote form so the line wraps will not appear in the correct places. This will probably make the formatting look worse than if you had just typed a simple paragraph or single line with no line feeds.

I can open my special boxes but it won't let me change the text in the box.

Usually this is caused by a quote that has been audited. The Trailmobile Field Services department audits all quotes sent to them before they are returned to the originating user. They check the configuration file for accuracy and completeness. Any special quote prices will also be inserted along with their associated weights. When this is done the audited flag will be set to "Yes". This means that the special item descriptions will now be unavailable for modification. All of the drop down list boxes will still be available and you can select or unselect anything. Only the specially quoted items are locked. If you have a need to modify a specially quoted item description you will have to email the file back to the Trailmobile Field Services department and ask that the audited flag be set back to "No". When you resubmit the quote it will have to be reaudited and the price changed to accomodate the change to the special item description.

When I change my trailer to an air ride suspension and then try to select my suspension, why is everything in conflict?

TMAC does not usually make automatic selections for you. We did not want anyone to be surprised by having an option selected of which they were not aware. When you make a change it simply flags the changes that need to be made in order to accomodate the original selection. In the case of the suspension window it is usually best to set all of the radio buttons across the top of the window first and then open the axle configuration drop down list box and click on the currently selected item. You will need to reopen the list and click the current selection again if it was originally selected by the computer as a standard. The first click changes it from a computer pick to a user pick and the second click will unselect it. When the axle configuration is changed to read "none" then perform the same change with the suspension location control near the bottom of the window. When both of these controls are set to "none" you will be able to open the suspension configuration window and select a suspension that does not have an "X" beside it. At this point all of the red flags should have disappeared. Now you will need to return to the axle configuration control and select an axle and then to the suspension location control to select a compatible suspension location.

How do I find out what is causing the conflict with the item that I just selected?

If you have selected an item from a drop down list box you can open the list again and right-click on the red flag icon. This will display a small box labeled "Why". When you left-click on the "Why" box it will display a list of the TMAC controls that would have to be changed to accomodate the item you just selected.

When I click the "Complete" button on the option windows sometimes I get a picture of a torn photograph instead of the usual checkmark.

The graphic of the torn photograph is a standard Windows graphic that is displayed when the program cannot find the graphic that is supposed to be displayed. We have not been able to determine why the checkmark graphic can be found sometimes and not others. However, we are not aware of any actual program problems caused by the display of this graphic. TMAC will still operate properly.

When I press the "View Quote" button the program works for a few seconds and then I get a plain gray window. The quote preview never appears.

The special quote boxes and the addtional info boxes are limited to a maximum of 255 characters including spaces. They will allow you to exceed this limit (which usually equals about 3 lines) without a warning. When you attempt to preview the quote only a blank gray screen will be displayed. If one of your descriptions will be lengthy just type a general description into the special box and indicate that you will clarify or elaborate in the "Notes" window that every category window includes. The notes windows do not suffer from the 255 character limitation.

When I press the "View Quote button the program works but only a portion of my information appears. I am missing some of my prices and options.

If the quote preview appears but does not seem to be complete you may have a problem with a special option box. If the line item for the option appears but the price is not present you may have included a comma in the price field. If there are line items missing from the quote preview window usually the last special item that is displayed is the one that has an error in it. Look for multiple decimal points in the price field, single quotes or double quotes in the text of the special or in any of the other fields such as option code or weight. After removing the offending characters the quote preview should work properly. Be sure to save your file after making the corrections.

When I open a saved configuration file a box pops up displaying an error message "domain member nil does not exist"

This only occurs in files that were originally created in a previous version of TMAC, saved and reopened in a later version. Changes in our option listings may cause certain option codes to change or no longer be available. This message is an indication that one of the items originally selected can no longer be found in the list of available options. Frequently this is because the option code has changed. If you review your specifications, find the item that is missing and select a new choice from that control the problem will be resolved. In most cases the option is still available but it is now under a different option code.

When I open a saved configuration I get a message stating that this file was created in a previous version. What's the purpose of the Set Date Button?

This is an indication that there may be inconsistencies between your original selections and the options that are currently displayed in your file. Please double check all your specifications very carefully to make sure that none are missing or incorrect. After you have verified the accuracy and/or made the necessary changes, press the "Set Date" Button to set the current model date to the newer version. Our field services department will not process a quote or an order that has a current model date older than the version that they are currently using.

When I press the "Generate Quote" button, Excel starts but then gives me an error message stating that it does not understand the file format.

In this case you are probably using the wrong version of Excel. TMAC requires at least Microsoft Excel 97 to operate properly. If you open Excel and choose "Help" and "About Microsoft Excel" the resulting window will display a version number. This must be version 97 or later. If the version is 95 or 7.0 or anything previous to 97 TMAC will not be able to properly paste the data into it. You will have to upgrade your version of Excel in order to run TMAC. It is also strongly recommended that you upgrade your entire Office Suite since most of our documentation will be distributed in the newest version of MS Word and all of our email instructions will directly apply to MS Outlook.

I would like to print the quote from Excel without displaying all of the detail pricing. I just want to show the bottom line price.

When you have generated the quote and are viewing it in Microsoft Excel you can hide the detail pricing or any other portion of the form that you feel is confusing or unneccessary by selecting the appropriate cells and then clicking the small down arrow next to the red letter "A" on your tool bar. This is the font color selection window. In this window you can change the font color to white and when you print the text will not appear. The data still exists and, should you choose to, you can reselect some or all of the cells and change the font color back to "Automatic", or to any other color you prefer.

I have generated a quote in Microsoft Excel but I don't want to display the FRET calculation on the face of the quote.

When you generate a quote the FRET calculation on the Analytical page of the quote spreadsheet is enabled by default. It is important to go to the analytical page and enter the appropriate information so that this calculation will be accurate and meaningful. For more information on how to do this see the appropriate page of the TMAC User Manual. If you are not interested in seeing the FRET calculation at all you can click the analytical sheet tab at the bottom of the quote page and in the center of the analytical page, uncheck the box labeled "Uncheck for FRET exempt". This will completely remove the FRET calculation from the analytical and quote pages. You may now return to the quote page and print your quote.
